catch the wind

There are a lot of things I love in life- my wife, my daughter, being close to nature, fixing broken things and riding my Harley to name a few.

But making music is right up there near the top of my list. Whether I’m playing guitar or singing or even just sitting at the console mixing, I’m able to release something that might not have any other way of getting out.

I’ve learned over the years that when I engage my whole self in worship, things change in the spirit world.

Somehow the simple act of strumming a guitar chord is able to launch the spirit like an arrow after an invisible target. Hurting people get healed. Attitudes change. Eyes open. Revelation happens. It’s an incredible thing.

I’ve spent a lot of time working on scales and technique, but now I’m practicing playing from the heart.

My hope is that I’ll be able to leave a mark on everyone I encounter in my lifetime. It would be an honor to think that maybe someone got a little clearer view of God as a result of something that I said or did.
